Overview

The interfaith iftar is held yearly Glasgow university campus, with the purpose of bringing the student community together to experience a cultural and religious ritual together, in order to promote dialogue, friendship, and understanding between students of different faiths and none. This year, we’re considering to hold it in the Gilchrist cafe, it involves prayers from students of different faiths before the breaking of the fast, as well as the call to prayer, followed by a meal including halal, kosher, and vegan options. The event is shared with faith societies in campus, as well as the chaplaincy, and the SRC website. After our Iftars every year, we make friendships with different faith groups, increasing community cohesion in campus and beyond.
