WHY NIGHT-TIME
As part of 16 Days of Activism, we aim to make public spaces safer and eliminate gender-based violence, particularly in areas like parks. Kelvingrove Park, located in the heart of the West End, currently lacks adequate street lighting, making it feel unsafe and often forcing us to take longer routes to avoid potential dangers.
Through our night-time run, SWAG seeks to reclaim green spaces for safe public use and support survivors of rape and sexual assault by fundraising for the GCRC.
DETAILS ABOUT THE RUN
Meeting point: Entrance to Kelvingrove Park, opposite GUU
End point: Opposite Cuku cafe, Kirklee road
We will have leaders and backstoppers for each group, along with a few welfare points located throughout the route. Information about who to contact in case you get lost or need any help will be shared closer to the time
This event is supported by grant funding from the Students’ Representative Council, which aims to support and elevate student-led initiatives that create more inclusive, accessible, and engaging opportunities for the wider student community.
