The 2026 Cardiology Career Night is an evening event offering insight into careers in cardiology, with talks from three speakers at different stages of the specialty. The programme opens with a short introduction, followed by
three 30-minute talks and a closing networking session.
Dr Ross Campbell is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the University of Glasgow, with specialist interests in heart failure and cardiac MRI. He holds honorary consultant posts at the Queen
Elizabeth University Hospital and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, and his talk will draw on his path through clinical practice, research and
academia.
Professor Rachel Myles is a clinician-scientist and Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on ventricular arrhythmia mechanisms and inherited cardiac conditions that cause sudden arrhythmic death. She is also an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist in the West of Scotland Inherited Cardiac Conditions Service.
Dr Jaclyn Carberry is a cardiology specialty trainee (ST4) in the West of Scotland and a University of Glasgow graduate. She completed a PhD on the effects of empagliflozin on left ventricular remodelling after myocardial
infarction, and will speak about training in cardiology and combining it with research.
