Take your tastebuds on a journey with Around the World in 80 Bites, a global street-food experience celebrating the cultures that make up the University of Glasgow community!

Students will travel through five regional food stations featuring flavours from East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa & the Caribbean, and Scotland

 

How it Works 

When you arrive, you’ll receive your International Festival passport

1️⃣ Check in 
Arrive 10 minutes before your session and collect your passport. 

2️⃣ Join the food journey 
Follow the queue around the stalls representing different regions of the world. 

3️⃣ Collect your stamps 
Our team will mark your passport as you visit each region

4️⃣ Choose your bites 
Pick one tasting dish from each region to build your international plate. 

5️⃣ Find a seat and enjoy 
You can eat in the Dining Hall or nearby festival spaces in the GUU (Drawing Room, Debates Chamber, Reading Room)

🟢 Middle East – Mrs Falafel  
🟣 Africa & Caribbean – Calabash Restaurant 
🔵 Scotland – GUU Kitchen 

 

Event Details 

  • Date: Monday 23rd March 

  • Time: 2pm – 4pm 

  • Location: Dining Hall, Glasgow University Union (GUU) 

Tickets 

There are two sessions available, and your ticket will specify which session you are attending. 

Please arrive 10 minutes before your session start time to allow time for check-in and to receive your festival passport. 

Once inside, simply join the queue and follow the food journey around the room

Important Information 

  • This event is for University of Glasgow students.  

  • Some dishes may contain allergens including gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts, fish or shellfish. Please speak to staff at each stall if you have dietary requirements.
