On the evening of 4 February 2025, the 2025 Scotland Spring Festival Gala, hosted by the Glasgow Chinese Students and Scholars Association (GCSSA), successfully concluded at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Under the theme “Auspicious Yi-Si · Radiance in Bloom”, the gala was presented in three chapters: “Homebound Hearts, Dreams Beneath the Lanterns,” “Dreams Across Mountains, Lights Beyond Distance,” and “Lanterns Lighting the Way Home, Dreams Set Sail.”
The event seamlessly blended the charm of traditional Chinese culture with modern Western artistic elements, offering the audience a rich cultural and audiovisual experience. Distinguished guests in attendance included Counsellor Kuang Jianjiang from the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Deputy Consul General Qi Qi from the Chinese Consulate-General in Edinburgh, Bailie Martha Wardrop, Deputy Lord Provost of Glasgow, Professor Eric Yeatman, Vice-Principal of the University of Glasgow, Sara Carter, Professor John Finch, Vice-Dean of the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow, Ms. Long Duo, Foreign Director of the University of Glasgow Confucius Institute, as well as Angelica and Iris, Vice Presidents of the University of Glasgow Students’ Representative Council.
Nearly 1,000 attendees, including Chinese students, scholars, and members of the local Chinese community, gathered to celebrate the Spring Festival and witness this memorable cultural event together.
