Overview

The conference will feature keynote talks delivered by leading paediatric surgeons across a range of subspecialties - including general surgery, ENT, neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery. Attendees will gain insight into training pathways, academic opportunities, and work-life balance through the talks and interactive panel sessions. We will also have hands-on surgical workshops in the afternoon which are designed to help students develop practical skills that are not routinely taught in medical school. These workshops will include a laparoscopic skills session and competition, an orthopaedic-themed external fixation workshop, as well as a paediatric stoma formation wet lab workshop.

We are also excited to host our Women in Surgery panel, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with female surgeons at different stages of their careers and to discuss experiences relating to diversity, inclusion, leadership, mentorship and career progression in surgery.

Finally, students will also have the opportunity to present their own work through oral and poster presentation sessions, with prizes awarded for outstanding contributions.
