A new year means new opportunities, new people to meet and plenty to explore. UofG Welcome is here to help you get started, whether you’re arriving in Glasgow for the first time or returning for another year.
For 2026, we’ve given Welcome Week a new retro-inspired look, drawing on pixel graphics and classic gaming. Think of it as the start of a new level: a chance to explore campus, find your people, try something new and make Glasgow feel a little more like home.
UofG Welcome Week runs from Friday 11 to Friday 18 September 2026, with events open to all new and returning University of Glasgow students. Inclusivity is at the heart of the programme, with a mix of big events, smaller socials, activities, tours and opportunities to get involved at your own pace.
Highlights include the Welcome Fair on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September, where you can meet hundreds of clubs, societies, student groups and organisations, pick up freebies and discover what student life has to offer. Across the week, you’ll also find social events, activities, tours and events hosted by clubs and societies across campus.
