Founded in 1881, the Glasgow University Sports Association is the oldest student body on campus and serves to represent the interests of all UofG Sport members.
GUSA provides effective opportunities for students to participate in sport by coordinating club sport, recreational leagues, health and fitness classes, specialist courses and drop-in sessions. Being part of sport is a fun and easy way to create a healthy lifestyle for yourself that will improve your physical, mental and social wellbeing. GUSA is here to facilitate this lifestyle, and with more than 50 sports clubs that cater to all abilities, we make sure that there is something for everyone here at Glasgow.
Throughout Welcome Week GUSA will be hosting a variety of different events, put on to give you an insight into what sport can offer you at Glasgow University. We will be hosting our annual sports fayre, where you can talk to members of our 52 sports clubs and sign up to attend taster sessions. On Wednesday there will be a Festival of Sport at Garscube Sports Complex, with music, food stalls and some fun activites to get involved with - transport will be available for free from the JMS to Garscube - this will be followed by a fight night at the Glasgow University Union. Later on in the week our clubs will be hosting taster sessions to give you an opportunity to try something new or try out for a team.
