About

Glasgow University Table Tennis Club is a great community for experienced table tennis players as well as complete beginners.
We have three sessions a week, hosted either in the Sports Hall on Level 5 of the Stevenson Building or in the Drumchapel Sports Center.

Sessions

Our Monday sessions are club sessions hosted from 16:30-18:00 in the Sports Hall. Our Thursday sessions are drop in sessions, meaning anyone with or without a membership can pop by to have a session. These run from 15:00-17:00 in the Sports Hall. Our Sunday sessions are competitive, taking place from 14:00-16:00 at the Drumchapel Sports Center Activity hall. The team usually meets at the Partick train station and takes the train to Drumchapel together. All equipment can be provided by the club at all our sessions.

Starting this year, we are also welcoming Terry McLernon, a level 3 coach in Scotland. So whether you want to play recreationally or practice for a championship, GUTT is there to help.

Membership

Our membership options are as follows: the recreational membership which allows access to our Monday and Thursday sessions that comes in annual or one semester only options, and the competitive membership which allows access to all our sessions (including Sunday).

Insurance

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance cover for any activity you take part in.  Upon joining, please check the level of insurance cover we, as a club, provide to you.

GUSA recommends that all students playing high risk sport, go abroad to compete/train, or are playing in governing body leagues, may want to consider/need to take out personal liability insurance, or join the sports governing body to be covered.  Some insurance providers also offer specialist sports cover.
