Please Note: Open days and similar events may mean campus is busier than usual. The next Open Day events are 2nd September and 24th October. Our tours will still be running on these days, but visitors wanting a quieter experience may wish to book for an alternative day.

Private Tours

Want something extra special, a group booking, or to have a tour outside our scheduled hours?

University of Glasgow Historical Tours will always work to accommodate parties of all sizes and regularly takes bookings from visiting colleges, schools, other universities and tour groups.

We are currently offering private tours on any day of the week. Private tours can be booked by emailing boxoffice@src.gla.ac.uk but please try and give us as much notice as possible (minimum 24hrs notice) to organise a guide. The Box Office is open Monday-Friday 9.30am to 5pm and we will respond to any tour requests at our earliest convenience. Our private tours start from as little as £30 depending on the size of the group, please get in touch for a quote.

When booking a Private Tour, we would ask for as much information as possible such as:

• The name of the leader of the party
• The contact email address of the original purchaser
• The date of attendance
• The time of attendance
• Total number of those attending in a tour party
• Are any attendees eligible for concession (students, those aged over 60)?

Please be aware that private tours will require payment before the tour takes place. Payment can be made by invoice, credit/debit card over the phone on 0141 330 5360 or by bank transfer.  A cancellation fee may be charged for tours that are cancelled at late notice.

We can also offer bespoke tours focused on specific themes or figures, if you have something specific in mind please get in touch to discuss your ideas!
