What are your main resposibilities as a volunteer?

So we film events around campus. But personally my role has been to supervise over other people when they're filming both on camera and off.

Why did you choose to volunteer for GUST?

When I was at the Freshers Fair in my first year, I saw the GUST stall and they just seemed so fun and like showed all their work. And it looked really fascinating and they just seemed like a really interesting, bunch of people.

What have you enjoyed most during your time as a volunteer?

I think meeting all the people at GUST and that we film with has been my favorite thing. We've like collaborated with other societies in the university and the SRC and it's been really fun. Just like kind of share ideas and see what everyone's doing.

How much of an impact do you feel your volunteering has made?

Personally, I think it's had a lot of impact within the student media area of the university because I've had people come up to me and say that like the help that I gave them in the training I'm giving them has made them feel a lot more confident or something. That's just really nice to hear.

What would you tell a student who is thinking about volunteering?

I think just go for it. There's actually nothing to lose. And it's it's so rewarding. You get so much out of it and I don't know a single person who's ever regretted.

If you could sum up your volunteering experience in one word, what would it be?

Rewarding!
